It doesn’t matter how good you do if you’re missing expectations.

If you bring me the best pizza I’ve ever tasted, but I ordered a hamburger, I’ll be disappointed (briefly - I’ll get over it for a good pizza).

If you ask for a red shirt and you get a green one, you’re going to stick out at the basketball game.

If you deliver the most beautifully crafted feature that handles every edge case and is well-tested, but all you needed to deliver was a button... not a good use of time.

Set clear expectations.

And clarify expectations of you.
